Introduction: Constipation is a pathology with different causes, with a prevalence of around 19 % of the adult population. Treatments for it can be pharmacological or non-pharmacological. Within the non-pharmacological treatment, the application of Physiotherapy techniques seem to solve it. The aim of this study was to carry out a systematic review of the effects of Physiotherapy treatment on constipation. Material and method: a search of the scientific literature was carried out with the terms: "constipation" and "physical therapy modalities" in PubMed, Pedro, Cinahl, Web Of Science y Scopus. Results: fourteen studies were selected and it has been found that the different physical therapy techniques provided statistically significant results, highlighting the improvement in qua-lity of life, reduction of constipation and its severity and improvement in stool consistency. Conclusion: the application of physiotherapy appears to be effective in the treatment of constipation in pediatric and adult patients.
