Abstract

Breast cancer is the most frequent tumor in the women at world-wide level, taking to the women to radical or partial surgery for the extirpation of the tumor. This article has like objective: - to draw up a summary profile of the women of the study; - to verify the incidence and type of complications in the women mastectomized from Granada (Spain) and to describe its post-surgical limitations. This is a descriptive study, made it with a sample of 16 usuary women of the Spanish Association Against Cancer and Asociation of Women Mastectomized, who decided to participate to them voluntarily in the study after receiving informations of the same one. The procedure followed for the collection of data was the personal interview. The results appear in tables to facilitate discussion of such. The summary profile of the women of the study was the following one: women of 50 to 71 years, most of them with a level of primary studies, nonqualified workers, pensioners, with mastectomia radical and ganglionary evacuating. Linfedema and the infection, are frequent complications. The later limitations affected to the activities of the daily life and sexual activities. There were no limitations for the religious and social activities. In conclusion, that the mastecomized woman needs a support group with people who presents the same difficulty, to share the doubts, uncertainties and decisions that facilitate her integration in the family and society, improving her quality of life.
