Electrical stimulation has been shown to positively effect wound healing. The purpose of this arti¬
le is to discuss the use of electric currents to augment healing of chronic dermal wounds. This goal is reviewing pertinent clinical literature, the types of the therapeutic currents, selecting treatment protocols, identifying contraindications.
